Beaches

Sea Palling is the nearest beach to Hickling, and you can enjoy canoeing, windsurfing, power boating, water & jet skiing and other water activities there. Sea Palling also has a beachside pub, chip shop, ice cream parlour, cafe, amusements and toilets.

The sea has formed a number of shallow bays created by man-made reefs just off the shore, which makes it ideal for bathing and paddling. Grey and Common seals reside here for most of the year and can be seen either in the water or sunning themselves on the beach between Sea Palling and Waxham, which is approximately one mile south of Sea Palling. The pupping season is around October - November.

Winterton is also nearby and has a lovely beach with dunes that are great to walk and play on. The Fishermans Return pub at Winterton is very popular.
